This week Chloe and I have been in a self-imposed "quarantine" to keep from getting sick before we go in studio. We strategically ran all errands at the beginning of the week (loaded up on groceries, dropped mail off at the Post Office) and not gonna lie—it's starting to feel like we're in some strange dystopian apocalypse novel with a deadly virus on the loose. Or maybe zombies.
During this quarantine, besides for amassing some serious zombie survival skills, I have also acquired other talents. Like...learning how to french braid my hair. Which, I will have you know, is an EXTREMELY DEADLY ZOMBIE ATTACK METHOD THAT MUST BE TAKEN WITH THE UPMOST SERIOUSNESS.
So there you go.
You're probably wondering about this magical Christmas wonderland behind me, the same way the residents of this fine abode were probably wondering why the heck two girls were posing for pictures in the street in front of their house. But surely they know their home is a Christmas Enthusiasts magnet (and we are dedicated Christmas Enthusiasts). I mean, c'mon...you can't plant adorable gingerbread man cookies in your lawn and act surprised when the likes of us show up. You have brought this upon yourself.
Back in Minnesota, our family had a tradition where we would drive our car real slow around the neighborhood at night "oooh"-ing and "ahhh"-ing at all the spectacular Christmas lights. We were like the judging panel on Top Chef analyzing each house. Except we were judging Christmas decorations...not food. Which brings me to the age-old debate: colorful Christmas lights or white Christmas lights?
As you may have noticed, I'm wearing the same necklace from my last blog post. Yep, this girl is an unashamed, bonafide outfit repeater. I've probably had this sweater for about two years, and while it's a thrill to get new clothes, I'll be the first to advocate recycling pieces you already own. It's good to get in the habit of finding new ways to style your closet.
I'm starting to think I should rename this blog "Confessions of a Purse Poser" because I literally own one purse (my brown tote). I have a black purse somewhere, but it's so worn that there's a tear on the bottom covered by duct tape. So I snagged my mom's black purse that she got on sale at The Limited for $12.
I hope everyone had a Happy Thanksgiving! I may or may not have indulged in two generous slices of leftover apple pie this evening...
